Hostinger is cheap hosting that stopped being embarrassing. Aggressive multi-year pricing, a custom control panel, and enough performance for most sites that are not pretending to be enterprise.
What it does well
Price to performance. LiteSpeed servers and built-in caching mean a WordPress site loads properly on a plan costing a few dollars a month, which was not true of budget hosting a decade ago. hPanel is genuinely easier than cPanel for beginners, and the AI site builder gets a non-technical user online in an afternoon.
Global data centre coverage is broad, which matters more than most hosting reviews admit.
What it costs
Headline pricing sits at a few dollars a month, but only on 48-month prepayment. Renewals are two to four times the intro rate, and that gap is the single most important number on the page. Budget for the renewal, not the promotion.
Where it falls short
Support is chat-only and quality varies. Shared plans are strictly limited on resources, and the upgrade path is a sharp step. The long lock-in required for the best price is a real commitment to a host you have not tested yet.
Who it's for
First sites, small business sites and anyone whose budget genuinely is the deciding factor. If you need phone support, root access or predictable renewal pricing, look further up the market.
