Hosting.com is the company formerly known as A2 Hosting, renamed in 2025 after World Host Group acquired it. Same Turbo plans, same LiteSpeed stack, new name.

What it does well

Speed on the Turbo plans is real rather than marketing. LiteSpeed with the caching plugin properly configured puts it ahead of most shared hosting at the same price, and the anytime money-back guarantee is genuinely unusual in a market built on annual lock-in.

Developer access is better than typical shared hosting: SSH, staging, and choice of PHP versions without a support ticket.

What it costs

Entry plans start a few dollars a month on long terms, with Turbo tiers costing meaningfully more and being the ones worth having. The standard plans are not what the speed claims refer to, which is easy to miss at checkout.

Where it falls short

The rebrand has left documentation, support articles and third-party guides inconsistent, and searching for help returns a mix of both names. Renewal pricing rises sharply as usual. Non-Turbo plans are unremarkable.

Who it's for

Performance-minded WordPress users and developers who will actually use the Turbo tier and the SSH access. If you were going to buy the cheapest plan, the speed argument does not apply to you.
